Much to my surprise was an article in the leftist Washington Post strongly attacking a successful Mexico City program that distributed ivermectin freely to some 200,000 residents. The program had already ended months ago in September 2021. So why attack it now? I think the answer is that the pro-vaccine gestapo sees that so many people are still rejecting COVID vaccines and booster shots. A research paper on the successful program downloaded over 10,000 times was removed recently from the website where it had been published. It has been a major news story in Mexico and the US.
But why?
The authors wrote a detailed complaint to the US journal that had removed the research paper. It strongly justified reporting the results of its observation study of IVM use. Here is one part of its letter:
“We find it extremely unethical, colonialist, and authoritarian that in the absence of a serious argument, you shut a work down based on political motivations due to the current divisions in your own country. What will you do, sir, with the 148 studies, 97 peer reviewed papers, 78 with results comparing treatment and control groups and in support of ivermectin use since ours was conducted? … How do you defend your decision to just shut down evidence in an ongoing scientific conversation because you’ve found the topic inflammatory and uncomfortable?”
Here is what was reported for the Mexico program.
Though the national government was not handling the pandemic well, the Mexico City government too an initiative based on what it saw as positive results for IVM around the world.
So the city handed out nearly 200,000 kits that included four IVM pills. The program started in December 2020 when COVID cases were spiking and hospitals were being overwhelmed.
The kits were given to residents who tested positive and had mild to moderate symptoms.
After handing out 83,000 kits the city government determined that there was a 52% reduction in hospital admissions among those who had received the kits compared to those infected that had not received the kits. A city official proclaimed “It’s GREAT news to be able to validate out policy.”
Later, it was reported that about 70% reduction in hospital admissions had been achieved.
The government had spent just under 29.3 million pesos (US $1.4 million) to buy 293,000 boxes of IVM.
“… The medical kit was a significant factor in the reduction of hospital admissions and of course possible deaths,” José Antonio Peña Merino, the head of the Mexico City government’s Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP), said in May 2021. This too was noted: “The Mexico City Health Ministry (Sedesa) defended the distribution of ivermectin to ambulatory COVID-19 patients, issuing a statement on Saturday that said the medication is ‘safe, cheap [and] without adverse effects in controlled quantities.’ This medication is approved in the country. It has been used to treat a range of parasite infections and other diseases with a lot of success. … The distribution of ivermectin to COVID-19 patients] was not an experiment as some media outlets have deceitfully [said],” the ministry said.
This too was noted: “… The recommendation came from a group of expert pulmonologists and infectious disease doctors who took into account the stage of the pandemic, which had claimed the lives of many Mexicans,” IMSS said.
Here is the abstract from the medical article that was taken off the web:
“Objective: To measure the effect of Mexico City’s population-level intervention –an ivermectin-based Medical Kit – – in hospitalizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A quasi-experimental research design with a Coarsened Exact Matching method using administrative data from hospitals and phone-call monitoring. We estimated logistic-regression models with matched observations adjusting by age, sex, COVID severity, and comorbidities. For robustness checks separated the effect of the kit from phone medical monitoring; changed the comparison period; and subsetted the sample by hospitalization occupancy. Results: We found a significant reduction in hospitalizations among patients who received the ivermectin-based medical kit; the range of the effect is 52%- 76% depending on model specification. Conclusions: The study supports ivermectin-based interventions to assuage the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health system.”
This is what the anti-IVM mob had a problem with. Because of solid evidence that IVM really works!
As a side note, the current figure for COVID deaths in Mexico is 300,000; one third of the 900,000 CDC figure for the US.
I guarantee you will learn a lot that will make you even smarter!
It appears that the goons are determined prolong their pandemic. What else does it look like.
Aside from the implied lies like ivermectin poisoning, reading the Washington Post made me think on one other point they alluded to- that Mexico transitioned from a IVM strategy to a vaccine one. I would love, love, love to read an article on why some countries/areas transition from IVM to vaccines- like blackmail, embassy closing, financial incentives, etc... Perhaps if this info is specifically known, maybe the rest of the hypnotized will finally wake up.
